Welcome!

Welcome to Open Access @ CUNY!

This site was created out of conversations and discussion surrounding the first CUNY Open Access Week that took place in October of 2010.

We hope that this site will be a place where we can share information about Open Access efforts by students and faculty across all of our campuses. Please help us to spread news here about initiatives and achievements of those here at CUNY as well as information about the wider movement for free culture and open access–get in touch with us if you would like to help educate and advocate for OA!

Current OA@CUNY advocates include:
Monica Berger, City Tech
Jill Cirasella, Brooklyn College
Bronwen Densmore, City Tech
Beth Evans, Brooklyn College
Alycia Sellie, Brooklyn College
Maura Smale, City Tech

Open Access Week 2010

In October 2010 Brooklyn College and City Tech celebrated international Open Access Week, an annual, international event. Both libraries offered a full week of programming geared to CUNY faculty, researchers, students, and staff, including workshops, film screenings, presentations, and discussions.

Visit our site for more details about the events, as well as publicity resources you can feel free to adapt for your own Open Access Week programs.
