Lots of things have been moving recently surrounding open access. Here are just a few bits of news we’re excited about, many of which were brought to our attention and celebrated by our fellow CUNY librarians:

• Obama issued an Executive Order and the White House released a Memorandum in support of open data (!)
• Check out the Directory of Open Access Repositories if you haven’t yet–perhaps in anticipation of CUNY joining in soon!
• Two articles on open access and historical scholarship have been made openly available by the American Historical Association in the May issue of Perspectives on History
• Radical Teacher also just debuted its first complete OA issue (of many to come!)
